Hear the World is a global initiative by Phonak to raise awareness about the importance of hearing and the consequences of hearing loss – a problem that affects more than 16% of the world’s population. The initiative addresses the social and psychological effects of hearing loss, and provides information on prevention and solutions. Our ability to hear is a fundamental part of our lives, and yet most people take it for granted.

“I am French—I’m from Paris, I grew up in Paris. It’s true that French are not very sophisticated in the sense that they don’t dress up for dinners. They are not like Americans where they are always perfect—the girls are not very sporty; they don’t take care of themselves as much as Americans, who always have very white teeth, and are so fit. The French are a little more chic, very classic. I think it can be boring too, because they don’t take any risks. They don’t wear too many colors. Like when you walk the streets in Paris you don’t see too many colors. When you are in London or New York it’s all crazy styles. [...] For example this morning, I went out in my pajamas, and people were looking at me funny, but I feel like in New York or LA people wouldn’t even notice.”

A luxury ski resort in Switzerland. 12-year-old Simon lives in the industrial valley below, with his jobless sister. Every day, he takes the ski-lift to the opulent ski world above, stealing equipment from the rich tourists to resell to the local kids back down. As he partners with a crooked British seasonal worker, Simon loses his boundaries, which affects the relationship with his sister. Confronted with a truth they had both been escaping, Simon seeks refuge up above.

Léa posed with a hairpiece from Franck Provost’s collection especially dedicated to commemorate the 16th anniversary of the company’s collaboration with the Cannes Film Festival. Léa has attended the ‘Les César du Cinema‘ gala this evening in Paris. She was nominated for “Meilleur Espoir Féminin” for her role in ‘Belle Épine’ but the lovely Leïla Bekhti has won that category. Congratulations to Léa anyway! Being nominated is such a big honor and after the amazing year she’s had, couldn’t ask for more.

Louis Garrel’s short ‘Petit Tailleur’ in which Léa stars is also nominated for ‘Meilleur Court-Métrage’. The ceremony will take place in February 26th. Best of luck to Léa!

Lea Seydoux, the French actress who recently appeared in Ridley Scott’s “Robin Hood” and the opening farmhouse scene of “Inglourious Basterds,” will square off against Tom Cruise in Paramount’s fourth “Mission: Impossible” movie. Seydoux will play the lead female villain in the picture, which just began shooting in Europe.

The “Mission: Impossible” role is 25-year-old Seydoux’s latest foray into English-language movies. She recently wrapped “Midnight in Paris,” Woody Allen’s latest film, which stars Marion Cotillard, Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams.
