What a nice surprise! Adèle and Léa are the stars of Miu Miu Resort 2014. The company described the campaign as follows:
“Five flirtatious compositions capture their candid chemistry: an arm casually slung over a shoulder, leaning together in a
mirrored pose, casually reclined across each other on the floor. The background wall in baby pink and girlish styling of the collection contrast with the actresses’ seductive presence” Source
Léa is still appearing on magazine covers around the world. This time around, she is on the cover of Spanish film magazine Fotogramas
and the German publication Aftenposten K
. Check them out!
Glen Luchford, who shot the Rag & Bone Fall 2013 Campaign, has captured Léa in a short brack&white film for the NY fashion house. As Nowness says, Glen’s film “are as beautiful and elegant as they are real” and we couldn’t agree more. Watch it below!
Glen Luchford’s short films for NY fashion house rag & bone are as beautiful and elegant as they are real. Starring actors Palme d’Or winner Léa Seydoux and Michael Pitt, and set to a yearning Sparklehorse soundtrack, Luchford’s signature is a combination of dramatic understatement and modern nostalgia for the craft of shooting on film. “Having the confidence to let the shoot flow is a great feeling, because anything can happen,” explains Luchford, whose only direction for Seydoux and Pitt was to do “whatever came naturally. My aesthetic is planned and controlled reportage—which is obviously
a contradiction. On the day, you have to just let go and see what happens. Sparks fly and unexplained ideas pop up.” Luchford started his career at as a fashion photographer on the style magazine The Face, going on to shoot iconic campaigns as well as directing the award-winning feature film, Here to Where. Rather than pose in the rag & bone collection, it seems Seydoux and Pitt were encouraged to live in it. Source
Léa has been featured on the cover of La Parisienne Magazine for July’s month, I’ve added scans to the gallery and also new images from the Rag & Bone campaign. Enjoy!
About the campaig
For Fall Winter 2013, award-winning French actress Léa Seydoux stars in
rag & bone’s women’s campaign. “For us, it’s all about using individuals we view as iconic characters,” says Marcus Wainwright. Shot day to night in the grittier parts of New York’s cityscape, legendary photographer Glen Luchford lensed Seydoux in black and white using 35mm and 16mm film and hand-printed the images. “Glen achieved exactly what we were after – perfectly caught real moments without lighting or props. Even more exciting was shooting on film and developing in the darkroom,” says Wainwright. “She stayed out in the torrential rain and got absolutely drenched,” recalls Neville of Seydoux’s shoot. “Her personality is encapsulated in the resulting photos – she is this beguiling, natural beauty.” Seydoux shares of her experience: “I felt totally free because the campaign is based on something very natural and intemporel.”
Léa will be the face of the Rag & Bone fall
campaign along with Michael Pitt! Here is the first behind-the-scenes picture, check it out!
Following two seasons with Kate Moss, Rag & Bone has tapped Léa Seydoux for its fall campaign. The 27-year-old French actress most recently starred in “Blue is the Warmest Color,” the lesbian romance that won the Palme d’Or at Cannes this year. Also this fall, Rag & Bone will unveil its first men’s campaign, which will feature Michael Pitt. The 32-year-old actor, who has starred in “Boardwalk Empire” and “The Dreamers,” already has the Prada spring 2012 campaign under his belt. The new Rag & Bone ads were photographed by Glen Luchford, with creative direction by MAD London, a consulting firm headed by Jefferson Hack.
